When Wines for Joanie met Hubert & Dan
We are over the moon to announce that Tasmanian sensation Hubert & Dan, now firmly ensconced in the Tamar Valley at their home base of Tamar Ridge, have joined us for one of our festival dinners. They will create an intimate, exclusive and doubtless unforgettably delicious event for just sixteen diners at vineyard Wines for Joanie.

With the heritage and history of Wines for Joanie setting the scene – we’re talking old world romance, charm and atmosphere – and the epicurean talent of Hubert & Dan’s Danielle Lefrancois fusing the finest of contemporary French style cuisine with the freshest and best of Tasmanian produce, our mouths are watering already at the prospect.
Danielle Lefrancois, creator and owner of Hubert & Dan, has earned a reputation as one of the most exciting talents on the Tasmanian food scene. Her speciality is perhaps in creating feasts fit for kings in whatever environment – whether it’s parklands, farms or riverbeds.
Her dining style is undeniably refined, featured in Qantas’ Travel Insider magazine’s ultimate guide to Australia’s best French style cuisine. Elegant, simple and flavourful, Danielle knows how to bring out the best in our Tasmanian produce, with every event a bespoke experience for diners, her food a feast for both the eye and the palate.
While she is still finessing the menu for our very special Wines for Joanie dinner, we can tell you that canapes on arrival will be followed by up to six exquisite courses and the best of the Tamar Valley’s produce – be it salmon, organic edible flowers and spring vegetables, and tempting dishes of the finest meats from our farms.
Delicious magazine said about her in 2016, “Bringing a swag of experience from acclaimed eating establishments to the table, chef and owner Danielle Lefrancois’ style is elegantly simple, fun and filling. Poised close to outstanding Tasmanian produce, Hubert and Dan’s offerings are a particular celebration of what’s so delicious about this state.”
Each course will be complemented by wines from the Wines for Joanie cellar. Expect pure and distinctive Tasmanian wines with special character: sparkling with a deliciously soft mouth-feel, warm and rounded Pinot Noir, and classic Chardonnay.
Your hosts Prue and Andrew, wine maker and viticulturist, see their job as one of nurturing the best from each vine, and letting the fruit do the talking. They will be on hand to chat to you themselves about how they craft distinctive and delicious cool climate wines from grapes grown on their vineyards at Glendale and Rowella.
This special event will take place at Wines for Joanie’s historic cellar door building, in which they have just created a spectacular new space in which to host events from intimate dining experiences to sumptuous weddings.
The peaceful and idyllic ambience of rural Tasmania in this most picturesque of spots tucked away in the Tamar will undoubtedly make this an evening of unforgettable charm.
Just sixteen places are available around the table – and tickets are now selling. We encourage you to book your place soon.
